Santander listed among Fortune’s ‘World’s Most Admired Companies’ for 2024

  • Santander is seventh most admired bank in the world.
  • The list recognizes the most highly-regarded companies among the largest firms in the world. The analysis, completed by Fortune magazine and the consultancy company Korn Ferry, is based on feedback from over 15,000 executives, board members and analysts.

Santander is one of the ‘World’s Most Admired Companies’, according to the annual ranking published by Fortune magazine. The list recognizes the most highly-regarded companies among the largest firms in the world, based on feedback from over 15,000 executives, board members and analysts. Santander is seventh most admired bank in the world.

Santander serves 165 million customers across Europe and the Americas. In 2023, it reported record performance, achieving €11.1 billion in profit and meeting all financial targets. Over the last eight years, Santander has been progressing in a significant transformation, aligning all its activities under five global business, using its own market leading technology to improve customer serve and increase efficiency. The bank is targeting a further increase in customers, revenue and profitability in 2024.

The analysis, conducted by Fortune magazine in partnership with the consulting firm Korn Ferry, asks participants to rate companies on a range of criteria, including financial soundness, quality of management and products, social responsibility, ability to attract talent or effectiveness in doing business globally. A total of 317 companies in more than 50 industries are included in the final public list. Fortune has conducted this annual ranking since 1997.

Santander was also included in Fortune’s ‘Change the World’ list in 2023 which recognizes 50 companies that are helping address some of society’s biggest challenges. Santander was the highest bank in the ranking and is listed thanks to the support it has provided over the past 27 years to education, employability and entrepreneurship through its universities programme, one of the largest privately-sponsored education initiatives in the world.
