Chief People & Culture Officer

Oriol Foz is the Chief People & Culture Officer for Santander US, leading all Human Resources and Organization activities for all Santander businesses and legal entities in the United States. In addition to working closely with Santander Group’s Global Head of People & Culture and HR leaders across the company’s international network, he is a member of the Santander US Chief Executive Committee.

Prior to joining Santander US in September 2022, Oriol spent more than 14 years at BBVA. From 2016 to 2022 in Spain, where he last served as the global CHRO for the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB), leading a team of HR leaders across the US, Mexico, Latin America, Europe, Turkey, and Asia. Oriol worked for BBVA in the U.S. from 2008 to 2016 in multiple leadership roles in HR for its Corporate & Investment Banking unit in New York and Texas.

Oriol is an Executive Sponsor for Santander US’ Culture Council as well as Embrace, the company’s Business Resource Group that strives to foster a safe workplace for LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies where everyone can do their best work and be their whole self.

Oriol is a certified executive coach, has completed graduate programs at IESE Business School and New York University, and earned his bachelor’s degree in organizational and industrial Psychology from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain.
