The Boston Business Journal has named Santander US as a 2025 honoree in its annual Corporate Citizenship Awards, a recognition of the region’s top corporate charitable contributors. The list showcases companies that prioritize giving back to the communities in which they live, work, and serve.
This year, the Boston Business Journal recognized 96 companies that reported at least $100,000 in cash contributions to Massachusetts-based charities last year. Together, these companies have given more than $416 million in cash contributions to nonprofit organizations in 2024.
In 2023, Santander US unveiled its three-year Community Plan, a $13.6 billion commitment on behalf of Santander’s businesses across the United States, which includes $100 million in charitable giving and 100,000 employee volunteer hours.
By the end of the Community Plan’s second year, Santander US made important progress toward meeting its targets, including $1.4 billion in small business lending, nearly $70 million in charitable giving, and 108,000 volunteer hours – marking the realization of our three-year volunteering target a full year early.
